How to connect to and sync with Apple Health - iOS

Connect to Apple Health in order to sync your exercise data to Lifesum and your nutrition data to Apple Health.


*How can I connect Apple Health to Lifesum?*


  1. Please go to the *Diary/Progress* tab.
  2. Go to your *Profile* in the top right corner.
  3. Go to *Settings* in the top right corner.
  4. Go to *Automatic Tracking*.
  5. Press *Activate* on the top option.


You will then be directed to Health where you have to confirm the connection by pressing " *Activate*" again.


Below the Activation button you will find the options to export:


  • Import your weight (From the Health app).
  • Export your health data, meaning nutritional data (From Lifesum to the Health app).



**What data is transferred between Lifesum and Apple Health? **


This is the data we export/import:


*Export:*


  • Food calories
  • Food nutrition
  • Weight
  • Water intake


*Import:*


  • Exercise calories
  • Steps
  • Active Calories
  • Exercise Time
  • Workouts
  • Weight


Note that the data that is imported/exported is based on what you have allowed when setting up the connection.


**I am having issues with the connection, what can I do? **


If you are experiencing issues with the sync to or from Apple Health there are some things you can try:


  1. Make sure that the Health App is updated to the latest version.
  2. Make sure that Lifesum is updated to the latest version.
  3. Disconnect Health from Lifesum under Automatic Tracking.
  4. Make sure that you have allowed Lifesum to read/write the necessary data. You can do this by:


  • Opening the Health app.
  • Go to your Profile.
  • Go to Apps under Privacy.
  • Press Lifesum in the list of apps.
  • Review the list of data.


  1. Connect Health to Lifesum again by pressing Activate.
