How can I trust the food items created by other users?

For both food items uploaded by Lifesum but also for food items created by other users, you can always primarily look for _*___Verified Food Items.______ These food items are marked with a ___*blue badge****___ next to them so you can tell them apart from the other user-created food items.

Why are there sometimes multiple versions of the same item?

Food items can vary slightly depending which database they come from therefore it can exist two different versions for the same item for example if one comes from the US data sources and the other one from the UK data source. Usually these differences are so small that will not have any impact on your tracking/result.

When it comes to the user created food items in the database, it may contain even more varieties of a same item, sometimes with errors in them. Therefore it is even more important that you try to find verified versions of the food item you want to track. You can also use the information on the food packaging to compare with the items you find in Lifesum.

*___Have you found an error in a food item in our database?___*****__ Here is how you can solve the issue:

*___Create your own version___*****__:

If you are a premium user you have the alternative to create your own version of this food item under Progress -> Favorites.

*___Report the food item___*****__:

If you find a food item in the app that you find contains the wrong nutritional information you can report it in the app using the "Report" button in order to have it looked at.

*___Notify Support___*****__:

You could also reach out to us with a screenshot of the item in the app as well as the correct nutritional information. If you do have access to the products barcode please do also provide a picture of it.

Note that this does not work for food items located using the Multimodal Tracking (AI search) feature.
