How can I connect Lifesum to Garmin Connect? - iOS

At this time, Lifesum does not support a direct connection to Garmin Connect.

However, you can still sync your exercise and activity data from Garmin by using Apple Health as a bridge between the two apps.

Follow the steps below to set it up:

Step 1: Connect Garmin Connect to Apple Health

To share your Garmin activity data with Apple Health, you’ll first need to enable data sharing between the two apps.

More information directly from Garmin can be found here.

From the Apple Health app:

  1. Open the Apple Health app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap Summary (bottom left).
  3. Tap your profile picture (top right).
  4. Under Privacy, select Apps and Services.
  5. Tap Connect (the Garmin Connect app).
  6. Toggle the categories you want to share on (e.g., Active Energy, Workouts, Steps).

If you initially declined to share data with Apple Health you may need to grant permission directly from the Garmin Connect app.

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app.
  2. Tap More (three dots or lines).
  3. Go to SettingsConnected Apps.
  4. Under Available Apps, select Apple Health.
  5. Tap Connect with Apple Health.
  6. Choose which data Garmin Connect can access.
  7. Tap Allow to confirm.

Once this is set up, your Garmin workouts and activity data will automatically sync to Apple Health.

Step 2: Connect Lifesum to Apple Health

Next, allow Lifesum to read the data from Apple Health.

  1. Open the Lifesum app.
  2. Tap the Progress (or Diary) tab at the bottom.
  3. Tap the Profile icon (top right).
  4. Go to Settings.
  5. Scroll down to Automatic Tracking.
  6. Tap Activate.
  7. Turn on all the data types you want Lifesum to import from Apple Health (e.g., Workouts, Steps, Calories Burned).

That’s It!

Once both connections are active:

  • Garmin Connect → Apple Health → Lifesum

Your exercise and activity data from Garmin will flow through Apple Health into Lifesum automatically.

If syncing doesn’t seem to work, make sure:

  • All apps are updated to the latest version.
  • Data sharing permissions are enabled in both Apple Health and Garmin Connect.
  • You’ve activated automatic tracking in Lifesum.
